A Valentine for the Samaritan Woman

I’m going to try a new feature on the weekly post. Rev. Marion’s Valentine sermon was so good that I wanted to pull out some quotes. Two of them are humorous. I’m hoping it comes across. If you want more, please email me!

Sermon: Love (Marion Brown)John 4:5-26

Quotable Marion

“Jacob kissed Rachel and wept aloud. That’s good stuff. That’s romantic. If a man kisses you and starts to cry that’s a good thing.” –referring to Genesis 29:11

“If you really are looking for the love of your life I’m not telling you to go find a well and sit there for a few days. It may or may not work. I do not know. If you do try it let me know. I think that would be a really good story.”

“So it’s your story now, Jesus is traveling. Jesus is tired. Jesus sits down by a well and you approach and hopefully what follows is the longest conversation that you have ever had with Jesus Christ. Amen.”

Prayers

There were no new additions to the prayer list this week. New prayer concerns can be sent to feedback at christianheightsumc dot org or leave a comment below.

After worship we had our Valentine potluck. Several good photos came out of it.
